House Rules
Respect the Space. Respect the Music. Respect Each Other.
Everyone must fill out a waiver and show ID to enter — no exceptions.
Every person in the building must be accounted for legally and for safety. This applies to performers, guests, vendors, and staff alike.
No minors without a parent or guardian over 25.
This ensures a safe, adult environment and clear accountability for younger attendees.
If someone is disruptive, they will be asked to leave.
Disruptive behavior includes disrespecting performers, ignoring hosts, damaging property, or breaking these rules.
No cover songs. Original music only.
The jam exists to foster creativity, collaboration, and originality. Covers may be fun, but they don’t fit this event.
Don’t cup the mic — it makes your voice sound muddy and muffled.
Good mic technique helps your voice project clearly and ensures the sound mix stays clean for everyone.
No one behind the drummer or sitting in the windows.
This protects both performers and the building. It keeps the stage area clear and prevents damage to fragile window trim.
Don’t play over the singers. If you can’t hear them, you’re too loud.
The vocalist is the lead during their song. Everyone must support, not overpower, the singer.
Play your primary instrument during the open mic. Don’t hijack someone else’s set to experiment.
Use the jam portion for exploration, not the open mic showcase. Respect artists’ time and creative space.
Use the whiteboard behind the kit to organize drum turns.
If you can’t peacefully figure it out, you can leave. Drummers rotate fairly. The board makes it clear — no arguments, no chaos.
Communicate. It’s okay to talk to the other musicians — use your words.
If you need a key change, dynamic shift, or solo cue, say it. Collaboration works best when spoken clearly.
No food in the jam room — there are tables in the Sauce Room and 3rd floor lounge.
Keep food away from instruments and cables. Eat and hang out in designated areas.
Take your water bottles with you. Label them if necessary.
Avoid clutter, spills, and confusion. The room must stay clean and safe.
Keep instrument cases out of the jam room.
Stash them in the Sauce Room. The jam room should be open for performers, not blocked by cases and bags.
No pedalboards or outside amps — we already have enough amps set up.
Gear is provided to keep transitions fast and the sound balanced. Personal rigs slow things down and cause issues.
Do not re-tune the drums.
The drums are set to sound right for the room and the recordings. Leave tuning to the engineers.
No drumsticks on hand drums. (Congas, bongos, djembe, etc.)
These are hand-played instruments. Sticks damage skins and ruin their tone.
House drumsticks are $12 per pair if you break them.
Respect the provided gear. If you play aggressively and break sticks, replace them.
No one behind the merch table without express permission.
This area is for artists and staff only. Unauthorized access creates confusion and security issues.
No smoking in the building.
Smoking of any kind is prohibited indoors for safety, health, and compliance with city regulations.
You break it, you buy it — gear, furniture, or décor.
Any damage caused through negligence or carelessness is the responsibility of the person who caused it.
If you find something broken or not playing well, tell Kiley immediately.
Everything is properly set up before each event. If something isn’t right, report it so it can be fixed quickly.
These rules apply to EVERYONE.
No exceptions for friends, regulars, or staff. Everyone is expected to follow these rules equally.
